    NTC temperature sensors generally consist of NTC thermistors as temperature probes (metal shells or plastic shells, etc.), extension leads, and metal terminals or connectors. Under a certain measurement power, the resistance value of the NTC thermistor will change with the temperature. With the characteristic of rising and falling, the NTC thermistor can be used to determine the corresponding temperature by measuring its resistance value, thereby achieving the purpose of detecting and controlling temperature. So when using a temperature sensor, what do its temperature and usage environment mainly depend on? That depends on the specific performance of its core components and leads (wires)——

The temperature sensor uses different core components and the temperatures used are:

(1) Welded bare chip or MF52A, MF51E, MF55: temperature resistance level 125℃, actual temperature resistance 150℃.

(2) Double-ended glass seal (MF58): temperature resistance level 200℃, actual temperature resistance 250℃.

(3) Single-ended glass seal (MF51): temperature resistance level 200℃, actual temperature resistance 250℃.

(4) Non-soldering chip: temperature resistance level 450℃, actual temperature 500℃.

Usage environment:

In high-temperature, high-humidity and corrosive atmosphere environments, it is recommended that the core component of the temperature sensor adopt a glass packaging structure. In high-humidity situations, it is best to use a single-ended glass packaging structure.

Temperature sensor design considerations and steps:

(1) Select the appropriate shape according to the customer's design requirements or installation requirements;

(2) Select core components and other materials with appropriate operating temperature range according to customer requirements or usage requirements;

(3) Select appropriate resistance value, B value and accuracy;

(4) Select appropriate moisture-proof insulation technology to meet the different needs of customers;

(5) Choose an appropriate packaging structure to meet the mechanical impact resistance of the product;

(6) Meet customers’ special requirements.
