    Traditional thermistors, especially under conditions of high current, generate significant heat which can adversely affect both the thermistor and its operating environment. Typically, the thermistor chip and leads are directly soldered to the resistor chip. The cyclical thermal stress experienced during operation can compromise the integrity and reliability of the solder joints, leading to a reduction in product performance. Additionally, conventional thermistors with a direct-insert structure, while offering good heat dissipation, occupy substantial space, posing challenges in compact installation environments. Conversely, the SMD structure, despite its compactness, can lead to PCB damage if excessive heat is generated.

This new design features resistor chips soldered to leads on both the upper and lower surfaces. The leads extend in the same direction from the solder points, forming an extension section that bends downward beyond the chip, creating a lower folding section. The ends of these leads form the installation points. A protective shell, comprising a top plate, side plates, and a bottom plate, encloses the chip. One side plate includes an opening to facilitate the insertion of the resistor chip and leads. The space between the chip and the protective shell is filled with thermally conductive adhesive.

The protective shell enhances heat dissipation from the top and shields the PCB from direct contact with the hot thermistor chip, thus preventing potential damage. The side opening allows for efficient, large-scale production and improves the structural integrity and packaging of the resistor chip. The side-insertion shell structure, combined with thermal conductive adhesive, fortifies the overall assembly, simplifying production processes and significantly increasing efficiency.
